Life Without God

You are missing the biggest piece of life!

Look! Below the shadowy surface of water,

And there lies the greater part—the huge!   The massive!

Your tiny little tip is nothing without God.

It is like traveling without GPS,

No—you don’t even have a map,

The road signs are meaningless.

There isn’t even a compass!

What is North? Where is South?

You don’t have the Son to gain your bearings.

You have no God.

Days are just days.

Life has no meaning.

News is shallow.

Everything is superficial.

There is a depth of understanding

That makes sense of all the confusion

When you know God and accept His Ways.

Israel makes sense—world news makes sense,

Satan is seen and understood.

Dread will fall first—yes, sinner—

For you ARE in the hands of an angry God.

But then the cross makes sense also.

The body-form hanging there is seen:

Torn, pierced, pounded, wounded, bleeding, stripped, slain.

Understanding comes when you know God:

God, the Father sending His Son;

God, the Son suffering for sin;

God, the Spirit, calling, wooing, pleading,

Opening eyes to see God!

Suddenly, the pieces all fall into place.

You fear to turn around for seeing Him—God:

Mighty! Powerful! All-knowing Judge!

But faith gives strength to see yourself

As God sees—the sin and failure.

You turn, and there you see God:

Loving, forgiving, waiting, arms outstretched and ready—

Ready to love, ready to hear your confession,

Ready to forgive all the foolish talk,

All the vanity and pride, all the dead ends.

You know God

And all becomes light.

Everything—even the foolishness in this world

Makes sense.

God is there.

God is everywhere!

God is God!

And HE is your Savior!

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:9,10 NKJV

But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell; They have hands, but they do not handle; Feet they have, but they do not walk; Nor do they mutter through their throat. Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them.

Psalm 115:3-8
