A “One Cell” God!

A manger at night with bright glowing lights.

“A child is born”—

Several times in the Old Testament, Jesus came to the earth as a man. (The theological term for these appearances is Christophanies.) So why as a baby this time? One commentator’s thoughts were that in this way He would be fully man—able to relate to us in every way.

In my seventh and eighth grade science class, we recently studied the process of life. Life begins when two cells, the man’s and the woman’s, meet and unite. Imagine: God in one cell!!! We often think of the vast universe and that God is EVERYWHERE—in all of it, and I believe He is. So, to stop and realize that He was able to place Himself into one cell is just as mind-blowing!

  • God is never to big and never too small
  • God is never too early and never to late
  • God is always complex as well as simple
  • God is always loving as well as just
  • God is always patient as well as purposeful.

I could go on and on!

My God is so big, so strong, and so mighty—there’s nothing my God cannot do!

My God is so small, so weak, and so helpless—there’s nothing my God cannot do!

What an awesome God we have the privilege to know and serve!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
