Isaiah 53: 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Matt. 26:62-65 (NKJV)

And the high priest arose and said to Him, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?”

But Jesus kept silent.

And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”

Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!

Jesus was not going to answer the high priest and, in fact, does not answer him until the religious leader makes it an oath to God. Even then the high priest does not believe Him!

APPLICATION: Know when to speak and when to keep silent. Some questions need no comment. This is a lesson I STILL have not learned! Also, know that this world will not accept me or God’s Word unless the heart is ready to do so.  Some folks will never choose Christ! How sad!
