–John 6:35
I love Jesus’ timing. NOTHING is done without purpose. The chapter begins with the feeding of the 5,000. Is that not fitting seeing that our verse for the days states that Jesus is the bread of life?
Once again we find the religious leaders arguing with Jesus about the manna which their fathers ate in the wilderness. When Jesus corrects them saying the bread came from their Father-God, not from Moses, they ask for this bread. His answer: I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst (v. 35).
He speaks of spiritual hunger and thirst, not physical, and once again they miss his point.
Application: Do I get this? Do I realize that Jesus is ALL that I need? He gives me eternal life and sustains me with His words! Hallelujah! I’m so glad! I never need to chase after the things of this world. They will leave me cold, broken, and empty every time!
